Working Principle
In a perfectly efficient air compression process, the power required for single-stage pressure transmission equals the sum of the power needed for each stage in multi-stage compression. However, real-world applications introduce inefficiencies that increase operational power needs. These inefficiencies include power losses from coupling, bearing friction, and the cooling effects of liquid viscosity. By reducing the compression ratio at each stage, the overall power consumption for multi-stage compression can be optimized compared to single-stage compression, thereby effectively mitigating these inefficiencies.
The two-stage screw air compressor boasts a sophisticated dual-stage rotary screw mechanism. Each stage features an active and a passive screw. The active screw drives the passive screw via an external power transmission system. In the first stage, a low-pressure screw group is utilized, followed by a high-pressure screw group in the second stage. As the screws rotate within an airtight seal, the gas undergoes a comprehensive compression process encompassing three phases: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First Stage Compression: This phase employs a low-pressure screw group to initiate gas compression. Gas enters the compression chamber through the suction valve. Under the high-speed rotation of the screw rotor, the gas is progressively compressed before being transferred to the second stage.
Second Stage Compression: At this juncture, the gas enters a more confined screw space, where it undergoes further compression at higher temperatures and pressures. The process culminates with the opening of the exhaust valve, which releases the high-pressure gas from the system.
Natural air is meticulously filtered before it enters the first stage of compression, where it blends with a small quantity of lubricating oil within the compression chamber. This mixture is compressed to an interstage pressure level. Subsequently, the compressed gas traverses a cooling channel and interacts with a substantial amount of oil mist, which significantly reduces its temperature. The cooled gas then proceeds to the second-stage rotor for additional compression before being expelled through the exhaust valve, thus completing the entire compression cycle.
