Working Principle
In an ideal air compression process, the power required for single-stage pressure transmission is equivalent to the sum needed for multi-stage compression. However, in real-world applications, actual working power increases due to various inefficiencies such as coupling transmission power loss, bearing friction, and liquid viscosity cooling effects. By reducing the compression ratio at each stage, the total power required for multi-stage compression can be made less than that for single-stage compression, effectively minimizing these losses.
The two-stage screw air compressor is engineered with a sophisticated two-stage rotary screw mechanism. Each stage is designed with an active and a passive screw, where the active screw drives the passive one through an external power transmission system. The first stage uses a low-pressure rate screw group, while the second stage employs a high-pressure rate screw group. Each screw is enveloped in a sealing air film. During rotation, the gas undergoes a seamless process of suction, pressurization, and exhaust, ensuring highly efficient compression.
First Stage Compression: The initial stage employs a low-pressure rate screw group to compress the gas. Gas enters the screw compression chamber via the suction valve. Through the rapid rotation of the screw rotor, the gas is gradually squeezed out and transferred to the second stage for further compression.
Second Stage Compression: In the second stage, the gas enters a more confined screw space, where it is subjected to higher temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens, releasing the high-pressure gases from the system, completing the compression cycle.
Natural air is meticulously filtered before entering the first stage of compression. In the compression chamber, it combines with a small amount of lubricating oil and is compressed to interstage pressure. The compressed gas then travels through a cooling channel, where it encounters a significant amount of oil mist, effectively reducing its temperature. The cooled gas proceeds to the second-stage rotor for further compression and is finally expelled through the exhaust valve, completing the entire process with exceptional efficiency.
Water-cooled compressors harness the potential of water as a cooling medium. As the cooling water circulates through the air compressor, it not only enhances lubrication by cleansing internal components but also extends the lifespan of friction-wearing parts. During compressor operation, the cooling water effectively dissipates heat from the cylinder and compressed gas, significantly reducing exhaust temperature and power consumption. This results in lowered operational costs. However, attention must be given to potential scaling issues within the water cooling system.
