Working Principle
In an ideal air compression process, the power required for single-stage pressure transmission equals the sum of the power for multi-stage compression. However, in reality, actual working power increases due to transmission power loss from coupling, bearing friction coefficients, and the cooling effect of liquid viscosity, among other factors. Therefore, reducing the compression ratio at each stage minimizes useless power, ensuring that the total power needed for multi-stage compression is less than that for single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor comprises a two-stage rotary screw compressor, with each stage featuring an active and a passive screw. The active screw drives the passive screw via an external power transmission device. The first stage utilizes a low-pressure rate screw group, while the second stage employs a high-pressure rate screw group. Each screw is surrounded by a sealing air film. During rotation, the gas undergoes three processes: suction, pressurization, and exhaust, resulting in efficient compression.
First Stage Compression: The first stage of the two-stage screw air compressor uses a low-pressure rate screw group to squeeze the gas. The gas enters the screw compression chamber through the suction valve. Under the high-speed rotation of the screw rotor, the gas is gradually compressed and transferred to the second stage.
Second Stage Compression: In the second stage screw group, the gas is compressed in a tighter screw space at higher temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens, releasing high-pressure gases from the system.
Natural air enters the first compression stage via the air filter, mixing with a small amount of lubricating oil in the compression chamber. The mixed gas is simultaneously compressed to interstage pressure, then enters the cooling channel to contact a large amount of oil mist, significantly reducing its temperature. The cooled compressed gas proceeds to the second-stage rotor, undergoes further compression to the final exhaust pressure, and is ultimately discharged through the exhaust valve, completing the entire compression process.
Water-cooled compressors leverage water as their primary cooling medium. As cooling water navigates through the air compressor, it not only helps in cleaning but also enhances lubrication, thereby extending the lifespan of frictional components. During compressor operation, this cooling water effectively dissipates heat from the cylinder and compressed gas, significantly lowering exhaust temperatures and power consumption, which substantially cuts operational costs. However, it's pivotal to monitor and address potential scaling issues in the water cooling system.
