Working Principle
In an ideal air compression scenario, the power required for single-stage pressure transmission equals the cumulative power for multi-stage compression. However, in real-world operations, the power demand rises due to coupling transmission losses, bearing friction, and the cooling effects of liquid viscosity. To enhance efficiency, it's critical to minimize the compression ratio at each stage, ensuring that the overall power necessary for multi-stage compression remains lower than that of single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor features a dual rotary screw mechanism with both active and passive screws. Driven by an external transmission, the active screw drives the passive screw. The first stage includes a low-pressure screw group, while the second stage utilizes a high-pressure screw group. Each screw is surrounded by a sealing air film, which aids in compressing the gas through sequential suction, pressurization, and exhaust cycles during the screw rotation.
First Stage Compression: In this initial phase, the low-pressure screw group initiates the gas compression process. Gas enters the screw compression chamber through the suction valve, and the rapid rotation of the screw rotor compresses the gas further, transferring it to the second stage.
Second Stage Compression: At this stage, gas enters a tighter screw space and undergoes compression at higher temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens, releasing the high-pressure gas from the system.
Natural air is drawn into the first stage through an air filter, where it combines with a small amount of lubricating oil in the compression chamber. The gas is compressed to interstage pressure and cooled in the cooling channel by contact with oil mist, significantly lowering its temperature. The cooled gas then moves to the second-stage rotor for further compression to the final exhaust pressure.
