Working Principle
In an ideal air compression process, the power needed for single-stage pressure transmission equals the collective power required for multi-stage compression. However, real-world scenarios entail higher power demands due to transmission power loss, bearing friction, and liquid viscosity cooling effects. By minimizing the compression ratio at each stage, the total power required for multi-stage compression can be significantly lower than that of single-stage compression, enhancing efficiency and reducing unnecessary power usage.
The two-stage screw air compressor features a sophisticated dual rotary screw system. Each stage includes an active and a passive screw, with the active screw driving the passive screw through an external power transmission mechanism. The first stage employs a finely tuned low-pressure screw assembly, while the second stage utilizes a high-pressure screw assembly. Sealing air films around each screw facilitate the compression process through three distinct phases: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First stage compression: In the initial stage of the two-stage screw air compressor, a low-pressure screw assembly is utilized. Gas enters the screw compression chamber via the suction valve and is compressed as the screw rotor spins at high speed. This compressed gas is then transferred to the second stage for further compaction.
Second stage compression: During the second stage, gas enters a more confined screw space, where it is subjected to increased pressures and temperatures. The exhaust valve opens to release the high-pressure gases from the system, completing the compression process.
Natural air is first drawn through the air filter and mixed with a small amount of lubricating oil in the compression chamber. This mixture is initially compressed to interstage pressure and then substantially cooled via contact with oil mist in the cooling channel. The cooled gas then enters the second-stage rotor, undergoing a secondary compression to achieve the final exhaust pressure.
