Working Principle
In an ideal air compression process, the power needed for single-stage pressure transmission equals the collective power required for multi-stage compression. However, real-world scenarios entail higher power demands due to transmission power loss, bearing friction, and liquid viscosity cooling effects. By minimizing the compression ratio at each stage, the total power required for multi-stage compression can be significantly lower than that of single-stage compression, enhancing efficiency and reducing unnecessary power usage.
The two-stage screw air compressor features a dual rotary screw system. Each stage includes an active and a passive screw, where the active screw drives the passive screw through an external power transmission mechanism. The first stage employs a low-pressure screw group, and the second stage utilizes a high-pressure screw group. Sealing air films around each screw facilitate the compression process through three phases: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First stage compression: The initial stage in the two-stage screw air compressor utilizes a low-pressure screw group. Here, gas enters the screw compression chamber via the suction valve and is compressed as the screw rotor spins at high speed. This gas is then transferred to the second stage for further compression.
Second stage compression: In the second stage, the gas enters a more confined screw space, where it is subjected to higher pressures and temperatures. The exhaust valve opens to expel the high-pressure gases from the system, finalizing the compression process.
Natural air first enters through the air filter and mixes with a small amount of lubricating oil in the compression chamber. This mixture is compressed to interstage pressure and then cooled significantly via contact with oil mist in the cooling channel. The cooled gas enters the second-stage rotor, undergoing a secondary compression to the final exhaust pressure. The entire process culminates as the compressed gas is expelled through the exhaust valve, completing the air compression cycle.
