In the ideal air compression process, the energy required for single-stage compression is theoretically equal to the combined power for multi-stage compression. However, practical applications face higher power requirements due to transmission power loss, bearing friction, and cooling effects from liquid viscosity. By minimizing the compression ratio at each stage, the overall energy needed for multi-stage compression is significantly reduced compared to single-stage compression, enhancing efficiency and minimizing excess power consumption.
The two-stage screw air compressor integrates a dual rotary screw system, with each stage comprising an active and a passive screw. The active screw drives the passive one through an external power transmission mechanism.
