Working Principle
In an ideal air compression process, the power required for single-stage pressure transmission equals the combined power for multi-stage compression. However, due to factors such as coupling power loss, bearing friction, and the cooling effect of liquid viscosity, the actual working power is higher. By reducing the compression ratio at each stage, multi-stage compression requires less power than single-stage compression, effectively minimizing unnecessary power consumption.
The two-stage screw air compressor boasts a sophisticated two-stage rotary screw mechanism, featuring both an active and a passive screw in each stage. The active screw drives the passive one via an external power transmission device. The first stage utilizes a low-pressure screw group, while the second stage employs a high-pressure screw group. Encircling each screw is a sealing air film. As these screws rotate, gas undergoes suction, pressurization, and exhaust, thereby achieving highly efficient compression.
First Stage Compression: The initial stage of the two-stage screw air compressor utilizes a low-pressure screw group, compressing the gas between the screws. Gas enters the compression chamber through the suction valve. With the screw rotor's high-speed rotation, the gas is gradually compressed and then transferred to the second stage.
Second Stage Compression: In the second stage screw group, the gas enters a more confined screw space, where it is further compressed at elevated temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens, expelling the high-pressure gas from the system.
Natural air is drawn into the first compression stage through an air filter, where it mixes with a small amount of lubricating oil. This mixture is compressed to an intermediate pressure. The compressed gas then enters a cooling channel, where it encounters a substantial amount of oil mist, significantly lowering the temperature. The cooled, compressed gas proceeds to the second-stage rotor, undergoes further compression to the final exhaust pressure, and is ultimately discharged through the exhaust valve, completing the entire compression cycle.
Water-cooled compressors, leveraging water as the cooling medium, offer significant advantages. As cooling water circulates through the air compressor, it not only aids in cleaning but also enhances lubrication, thereby extending the lifespan of friction-wearing components. During operation, the cooling water absorbs heat from the cylinder and the compressed gas, effectively lowering exhaust temperature and power consumption, which in turn reduces operating costs. However, it's crucial to monitor and manage potential scaling issues in the water cooling system.
