Working Principle
In an optimal air compression scenario, the energy required for single-stage pressure transmission equals the total energy for multi-stage compression. However, real-world conditions such as coupling transmission losses, bearing friction, and cooling effects from viscosity increase operational power. By minimizing the compression ratio at each stage, overall power consumption in multi-stage compression is reduced, making it significantly more efficient than single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor boasts a dual-stage rotary screw system, each stage featuring an active and passive screw. The active screw drives the passive screw through an external power source. The first stage employs a low-pressure screw group, while the second stage uses a high-pressure screw group. Each screw is surrounded by a sealing air film. During rotation, air undergoes three fundamental processes: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First Stage Compression: The initial stage of the two-stage screw air compressor utilizes a low-pressure screw group to compress the gas. The gas is drawn into the compression chamber via the suction valve. As the screw rotor spins rapidly, the gas is incrementally compressed and moved to the next stage.
Second Stage Compression: In this stage, the gas enters a more confined screw space, experiencing heightened temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens, expelling the high-pressure gases from the system.
Natural air is drawn into the first compression stage through an air filter, where it mixes with a small amount of lubricating oil and is compressed to an interstage pressure. The compressed gas then passes through a cooling channel, encountering significant oil mist, which substantially reduces its temperature. This cooled gas enters the second-stage rotor for further compression, reaching the final exhaust pressure. Ultimately, the compressor expels the gas through the exhaust valve, completing the entire compression cycle.
