Working Principle
In an ideal air compression scenario, the power needed for single-stage compression would equal the sum required for multi-stage compression. However, in reality, due to transmission power loss through couplings, bearing friction, and liquid viscosity's cooling effects, actual working power increases. By reducing each stage's compression ratio, the total power needed for multi-stage compression can be minimized, making it more efficient than single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor features a pair of rotary screw compressors. Each stage consists of an active and a passive screw. The active screw drives the passive screw via an external power transmission. The first stage employs a low-pressure screw group, while the second stage utilizes a high-pressure screw group. Surrounding each screw is a sealing air film. During operation, gas is compressed through three phases: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First Stage Compression: The two-stage screw air compressor starts with a low-pressure rate screw group. Gas enters the screw compression chamber via the suction valve, where it is gradually squeezed out by the high-speed rotating screw rotor and transferred to the second stage.
Second Stage Compression: Gas enters a tighter screw space within the second-stage screw group, undergoing compression at higher temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens, releasing the high-pressure gases from the system.
Natural air, filtered through the air filter, enters the first compression stage, mixing with a small amount of lubricating oil. This mixture is compressed to interstage pressure and then enters the cooling channel, where it encounters oil mist, significantly lowering its temperature. The cooled gas proceeds to the second-stage rotor for final compression to exhaust pressure, culminating in its release via the exhaust valve, completing the compression process.
