In an ideal scenario, the power for single-stage air compression is equivalent to the total power needed for multi-stage compression. However, real-world applications encounter increased power consumption due to transmission losses, bearing friction, and cooling effects caused by liquid viscosity. To maximize efficiency, it's essential to minimize the compression ratio at each stage, ensuring the total power required for multi-stage compression is less than that for single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor features a sophisticated dual rotary screw mechanism with both active and passive screws. An external transmission drives the active screw, which in turn propels the passive screw. The first stage employs a low-pressure screw group, while the second stage uses a high-pressure screw group. Each screw is surrounded by a sealing air film, enabling efficient gas compression through successive suction, pressurization, and exhaust cycles as the screws rotate.
First Stage Compression: At this initial stage, the low-pressure screw group begins compressing the gas. Gas is drawn into the screw compression chamber via the suction valve, where the high-speed rotation of the screw rotor compresses the gas further, moving it to the second stage.
Second Stage Compression: In the second stage, the gas enters a more confined screw space and is compressed at higher temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens, releasing the now high-pressure gas from the system.
Natural air is drawn into the first stage through an air filter, where it combines with a small amount of lubricating oil in the compression chamber. The gas is compressed to interstage pressure, then cooled in the cooling channel by oil mist contact, significantly lowering its temperature.
