Working Principle
In an optimal air compression process, the power required for a single-stage pressure transmission equals the power needed for multi-stage compression. In reality, due to factors such as coupling transmission power loss, bearing friction, and the cooling effect of liquid viscosity, the actual working power increases. By reducing the compression ratio at each stage, useless power can be minimized, making the total power for multi-stage compression lower than single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor consists of a two-stage rotary screw system, each with an active and a passive screw. The active screw drives the passive screw via an external power transmission. The initial stage employs a low-pressure rate screw group, while the second stage uses a high-pressure rate screw group. Each screw is surrounded by a sealing air film. During operation, the gas is compressed through suction, pressurization, and exhaust processes.
First Stage Compression: This stage utilizes a low-pressure rate screw group that compresses the gas between them. The gas enters the screw compression chamber through the suction valve. The high-speed rotation of the screw rotor gradually squeezes the gas out, transferring it to the second stage.
Second Stage Compression: In this stage, the gas enters a tighter screw space, where it is compressed at higher temperature and pressure. The exhaust valve then opens to expel the high-pressure gas from the system.
Natural air enters the first-stage compression through an air filter, mixing with a small amount of lubricating oil. The mixture is compressed to interstage pressure in the compression chamber, then cooled by contact with oil mist in the cooling channel. This cooled, compressed gas enters the second-stage rotor for further compression to the final exhaust pressure, completing the entire compression process when discharged through the exhaust valve.
