Working Principle
In an ideal air compression process, the power required for single-stage pressure transmission is comparable to the combined power needed for multi-stage compression. However, in practical applications, actual working power increases due to coupling transmission power loss, bearing friction, and the cooling effect of liquid viscosity. To mitigate these effects, reducing the compression ratio at each stage can significantly decrease the total power needed for multi-stage compression, making it more efficient than single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor is engineered with a sophisticated two-stage rotary screw mechanism, featuring an active and a passive screw in each stage. The active screw drives the passive screw via an external transmission device. The first stage employs a low-pressure rate screw group, while the second stage utilizes a high-pressure rate screw group. Each screw is enveloped by a sealing air film. As the screws rotate, gas is systematically compressed through three phases: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First Stage Compression: During the initial phase, the two-stage screw air compressor uses a low-pressure rate screw group. Gas is drawn into the screw compression chamber via the suction valve, where it is incrementally compressed by the high-speed rotation of the screw rotor before being transferred to the second stage.
Second Stage Compression: In the second phase, the gas enters a more confined screw space and is subjected to higher temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens, releasing the high-pressure gases from the system.
Natural air is initially drawn into the compressor through an air filter and mixed with a small quantity of lubricating oil in the compression chamber. This mixture is compressed to interstage pressure. The compressed gas flows through the cooling channel, encountering significant oil mist, which drastically reduces its temperature. The cooled, compressed gas then enters the second-stage rotor for further compression to the final exhaust pressure. The process culminates with the gas being discharged through the exhaust valve.
