Working Principle

In an ideal air compression process, the power required for single-stage pressure transmission is theoretically equal to the sum of the power required for multi-stage compression. However, real-world dynamics such as coupling transmission power loss, bearing friction, and the cooling effect of liquid viscosity cause the actual working power to increase. By reducing the compression ratio of each stage, we can minimize these losses, making the total power required for multi-stage compression significantly less than that for single-stage compression.

The two-stage screw air compressor features a sophisticated design involving a two-stage rotary screw mechanism. Each stage includes an active and a passive screw, with the active screw driving the passive one via an external power transmission system. The first stage utilizes a low-pressure rate screw set, while the second stage employs a high-pressure rate screw set. An air film seals around each screw, facilitating gas compression through three pivotal processes: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.

First Stage Compression: At the initial stage, the low-pressure rate screw set compresses the gas. The gas is drawn into the screw compression chamber through a suction valve. With the high-speed rotation of the screw rotor, the gas is gradually compressed and then transferred to the second stage.

Second Stage Compression: In this stage, the gas enters a more confined screw space where it is compressed at significant temperature and pressure. The exhaust valve then opens, expelling the high-pressure gases from the system.

The air compression journey begins as natural air enters the first stage through an air filter, mixing with a small amount of lubricating oil in the compression chamber. The mixed gas is then compressed to an intermediate pressure. The resultant compressed gas is directed into a cooling channel where it encounters a large volume of oil mist, dramatically reducing its temperature. This cooled, compressed gas then enters the second-stage rotor, undergoes further compression, and is finally expelled through the exhaust valve, completing the entire compression process.
