Working Principle
In the ideal scenario of air compression, the energy required for single-stage pressure transmission equates to the cumulative energy needed for multi-stage compression. However, in practice, factors like coupling transmission losses, bearing friction, and the viscosity's cooling effect result in increased operational power. By minimizing the compression ratio at each stage, overall power consumption in multi-stage compression is significantly reduced, making it much more efficient than single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor from Sanzhi (Henan) Compressor Co., Ltd. is ingeniously designed with a dual-stage rotary screw system that features both active and passive screws at each stage. The active screw drives the passive screw via an external power mechanism. The initial stage utilizes a low-pressure rate screw assembly, while the secondary stage employs a high-pressure rate screw assembly. Each screw is enveloped by a sealing air film. During operation, air undergoes three vital processes: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First Stage Compression: In the initial phase of the two-stage screw air compressor, a low-pressure rate screw assembly compresses the gas between the screws. The gas is drawn into the compression chamber via the suction valve. As the screw rotor rotates at high speed, the gas is gradually compressed and transferred to the subsequent stage.
Second Stage Compression: During this phase, the gas enters a more confined screw space, experiencing elevated temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens to release the high-pressure gases from the system, concluding the compression process.
Natural air is drawn into the first compression stage through an air filter, where it mixes with a small amount of lubricating oil. This mixture is then compressed to an intermediate pressure. The compressed gas passes through a cooling channel, encountering significant oil mist that substantially reduces its temperature. This cooled gas then enters the second-stage rotor for further compression, achieving the final exhaust pressure. Ultimately, the compressor expels the gas through the exhaust valve, completing this intricate and highly efficient compression cycle.
