Working Principle
In an ideal air compression process, the power required for single-stage pressure transmission is equivalent to the sum needed for multi-stage compression. However, in real-world applications, various inefficiencies such as coupling transmission power loss, bearing friction, and liquid viscosity cooling effects cause the actual working power to increase. By reducing the compression ratio at each stage, multi-stage compression can require less total power than single-stage compression, effectively minimizing these losses.
The two-stage screw air compressor boasts a two-stage rotary screw mechanism. Each stage features an active and a passive screw, with the active screw driving the passive screw via an external power transmission device. The first stage employs a low-pressure rate screw group, while the second stage utilizes a high-pressure rate screw group. Each screw is enveloped in a sealing air film. As they rotate, the gas is compressed through three stages: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First Stage Compression: The initial stage utilizes a low-pressure rate screw group that compresses the gas between them. Gas enters the screw compression chamber via the suction valve. Under the high-speed rotation of the screw rotor, the gas is progressively squeezed out and transferred to the second stage.
Second Stage Compression: In the second stage, the gas moves into a more confined screw space, where it is compressed at higher temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens, expelling high-pressure gases from the system.
Before entering the first stage of compression, natural air is filtered and mixed with a small amount of lubricating oil in the compression chamber. This mixture is compressed to the interstage pressure. The compressed gas then passes through a cooling channel, where it encounters a large amount of oil mist, significantly lowering its temperature. The cooled gas enters the second-stage rotor, undergoes further compression, and is ultimately expelled through the exhaust valve, completing the entire compression process.
Water-cooled compressors expertly utilize water as a cooling medium, enhancing performance and longevity. The circulating cooling water not only ensures superior lubrication by cleaning internal components but also extends the lifespan of friction-wearing parts. During operation, it effectively dissipates heat from the cylinder and compressed gas, significantly lowering exhaust temperatures and power usage, leading to reduced operational costs. However, attention must be given to potential scaling issues within the water cooling system.
