Fundamental Working Principle
In an ideal air compression process, the power required for single-stage pressure transmission equals the sum needed for multi-stage compression. However, in real-world applications, this power increases due to factors like coupling power loss, bearing friction, and the cooling effects of liquid viscosity. To minimize this wasted power, reducing the compression ratio at each stage ensures that the total power for multi-stage compression is less than that for single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor features a two-stage rotary screw mechanism, with each stage comprising an active and a passive screw. The active screw drives the passive screw through an external power transmission system. The first stage employs a low-pressure rate screw group, while the second stage utilizes a high-pressure rate screw group. A sealing air film surrounds each screw, and during rotation, gas undergoes suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First Stage Compression: The initial stage of the two-stage screw air compressor utilizes a low-pressure rate screw group. The gas is drawn into the screw compression chamber via the suction valve. Under the rapid rotation of the screw rotor, the gas is gradually compressed and transferred to the second stage.
Second Stage Compression: In the advanced stage, the gas moves into a more confined screw space, experiencing higher temperature and pressure compression. The exhaust valve then opens, releasing high-pressure gases from the system.
Natural air is filtered and drawn into the first stage of compression, where it mixes with a small amount of lubricating oil. This mixture is compressed to interstage pressure and then cooled as it contacts significant amounts of oil mist in the cooling channel. The cooled, compressed gas then enters the second-stage rotor for final compression to exhaust pressure, completing the cycle as it exits through the exhaust valve.
Water-cooled compressors utilize water as the cooling medium, ensuring an efficient heat dissipation process. As the cooling water circulates within the air compressor, it not only cleans but also enhances lubrication, thus prolonging the lifespan of friction-wearing parts. By effectively removing heat from the cylinder and compressed gas during operation, these compressors significantly lower the exhaust temperature and power consumption, leading to reduced operational costs. However, it is crucial to address potential scaling issues within the water cooling system.
