Working Principle
In an ideal air compression scenario, the power necessary for single-stage pressure transmission equals the combined power required for multi-stage compression. However, in real-world applications, actual working power increases due to coupling transmission power loss, bearing friction, and the cooling effect of liquid viscosity, among other factors. By reducing the compression ratio of each stage, unnecessary power loss can be minimized, ensuring that the total power required for multi-stage compression is less than that needed for single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor consists of a two-stage rotary screw compressor, each with an active and a passive screw. The active screw drives the passive screw via an external power transmission device. The first stage involves a low-pressure screw group, while the second utilizes a high-pressure screw group. Each screw is enveloped by a sealing air film, facilitating the compression of gas through three stages: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First stage compression: Initially, the low-pressure screw group compresses the gas entering through the suction valve. Under the high-speed rotation of the screw rotor, the gas is systematically squeezed and then transferred to the second stage.
Second stage compression: The gas enters a tighter screw space in the second stage, undergoing further compression at higher temperature and pressure. The exhaust valve then opens, expelling the high-pressure gases from the system.
Natural air is first filtered and then enters the initial compression stage, where it mixes with a small amount of lubricating oil. This mixed gas is compressed to interstage pressure and then cooled significantly using a cooling channel and oil mist. The cooled gas enters the second-stage rotor for further compression, reaching the final exhaust pressure. Finally, the fully compressed gas is discharged through the exhaust valve, completing the entire compression cycle.
Water-cooled compressors utilize water as the cooling medium, ensuring superior performance and longevity. As cooling water circulates within the air compressor, it not only cleans but also enhances lubrication, prolonging the life of friction-wearing parts. During operation, this cooling water effectively dissipates heat from the cylinder and compressed gas, significantly reducing exhaust temperature and power consumption, thus lowering overall operating costs. However, it is essential to monitor and manage scaling within the water cooling system.
