Working Principle
In an ideal air compression scenario, the power required for single-stage pressure transmission equals the sum needed for multi-stage compression. However, in real-world applications, actual operational power increases due to inefficiencies such as power loss from coupling, bearing friction, and the cooling effects of liquid viscosity. By minimizing the compression ratio at each stage, the total power for multi-stage compression can be reduced compared to single-stage compression, effectively diminishing these inefficiencies.
The two-stage screw air compressor boasts a dual-stage rotary screw mechanism, featuring both active and passive screws. The active screw drives the passive one through an external power transmission device. The first stage uses a low-pressure screw group, while the second stage employs a high-pressure screw group. Each screw operates within an airtight seal. During rotation, the gas undergoes three stages of compression: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First Stage Compression: The initial stage employs a low-pressure screw group to compress the gas. Gas enters the compression chamber through the suction valve. Under the high-speed rotation of the screw rotor, the gas is progressively compressed and transferred to the second stage.
Second Stage Compression: In this stage, the gas enters a more confined screw space where it undergoes further compression at higher temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve opens to release the high-pressure gas, completing the compression cycle.
Natural air is meticulously filtered before entering the first stage of compression, where it mixes with a small amount of lubricating oil in the compression chamber. This mixture is compressed to interstage pressure. The compressed gas then passes through a cooling channel and encounters a significant amount of oil mist, reducing its temperature. The cooled gas proceeds to the second-stage rotor for further compression and is ultimately expelled through the exhaust valve, completing the entire compression process.
