Working Principle
In an optimized air compression process, the power needed for single-stage pressure transmission matches the sum required for multi-stage compression. However, in real-world applications, actual working power increases due to coupling transmission power loss, bearing friction, and liquid viscosity's cooling effect. By reducing each stage's compression ratio, total power for multi-stage compression becomes less than single-stage requirements. This minimizes power wastage effectively.
The two-stage screw air compressor consists of a two-stage rotary screw design. Each stage includes an active and a passive screw; the active screw drives the passive screw via an external power transmission. The first stage uses a low-pressure rate screw group, while the second stage applies a high-pressure rate screw group. Each screw is encased in a sealing air film. During rotation, gas undergoes suction, pressurization, and exhaust processes for efficient compression.
First stage compression: The initial stage employs a low-pressure rate screw group to compress gas. Gas enters the screw compression chamber through the suction valve and, under the high-speed rotation of the screw rotor, is squeezed and transferred onward to the second stage.
Second stage compression: In this stage, gas enters a tighter screw chamber, experiencing compression at higher temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve opens to discharge the high-pressure gases from the system, completing the compression cycle.
Natural air is drawn into the first stage through the air filter, where it mixes with a small amount of lubricating oil. This mixed gas is compressed to interstage pressure. It then passes through a cooling channel, interacting with oil mist to significantly reduce temperature. The cooled, compressed gas enters the second-stage rotor for final compression, reaching the desired exhaust pressure before being expelled through the exhaust valve, thus completing the entire compression process.
Water-cooled compressors utilize water as a coolant, enhancing both lubrication and the lifespan of friction-prone parts. This method effectively dissipates heat from the cylinder and compressed gas, lowering exhaust temperature and power consumption while reducing operational costs. However, it's crucial to monitor and address potential scaling issues within the water cooling system.
