Working Principle
During the air compression process, achieving optimal efficiency in single-stage compression requires that the power needed equals the combined effort of multi-stage compression. In real-world applications, however, inefficiencies such as coupling power loss, bearing friction, and cooling liquid viscosity lead to higher power consumption. By reducing the compression ratio at each stage, multi-stage compression can minimize these inefficiencies, resulting in lower total power requirements compared to single-stage compression.
Our innovative two-stage screw air compressor boasts a dual-stage rotary screw mechanism, with each stage featuring an active and a passive screw. The active screw drives the passive screw through an external power device. The first stage utilizes a low-pressure rate screw group, while the second stage employs a high-pressure rate screw group. Each screw is surrounded by a sealing air film, compressing the gas in three distinct phases: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First Stage Compression: The process begins with a low-pressure rate screw group compressing the gas. Gas enters the compression chamber through a suction valve, where it is gradually squeezed and transferred to the second stage under the high-speed rotation of the screw rotor.
Second Stage Compression: Here, the gas moves into a narrower screw space, experiencing compression at elevated temperatures and pressures. The high-pressure gases are then expelled from the system as the exhaust valve opens, completing the compression cycle.
The process starts with natural air being filtered before entering the first compression stage, where it mixes with a small quantity of lubricating oil. This mixture is compressed to interstage pressure and passes through a cooling channel, where it contacts a large amount of oil mist, significantly reducing its temperature. The cooled gas then proceeds to the second stage for further compression and is ultimately expelled through the exhaust valve, thus completing the entire compression process.
Water-cooled compressors leverage the powerful cooling capabilities of water, resulting in superior lubrication and prolonged lifespan of friction-prone components. As cooling water circulates, it effectively cleans internal parts and dissipates heat from both the cylinder and compressed gas. This efficient process drastically lowers exhaust temperature and power consumption, leading to significant operational cost savings. Regular monitoring and addressing potential scaling issues within the water cooling system are crucial to maintaining peak performance.
