Working Principle
In an ideal air compression process, the power required for single-stage pressure transmission is equal to the combined power for multi-stage compression. However, in reality, actual working power increases due to factors like coupling power loss, bearing friction, and the cooling effect of liquid viscosity. By reducing the compression ratio at each stage, the total power needed for multi-stage compression becomes less than that required for single-stage compression, effectively cutting down unnecessary power consumption.
The two-stage screw air compressor incorporates a sophisticated two-stage rotary screw mechanism. Each stage consists of an active and a passive screw, where the active screw propels the passive screw using an external power transmission device. The first stage employs a low-pressure screw group, while the second stage features a high-pressure screw group. Surrounding each screw is a sealing air film. As the screws rotate, gas undergoes suction, pressurization, and exhaust processes, resulting in efficient compression.
First Stage Compression: The initial stage of the two-stage screw air compressor utilizes a low-pressure screw group to compress the gas between the screws. Gas enters the screw compression chamber via the suction valve. As the screw rotor rotates at high speed, the gas is gradually compressed and subsequently transferred to the second stage.
Second Stage Compression: In the second-stage screw group, the gas enters a more confined screw space, where it undergoes further compression at higher temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens, expelling the high-pressure gas from the system.
Natural air is drawn into the first stage of compression through an air filter, where it mixes with a small amount of lubricating oil. This mixture is compressed to an intermediate pressure. The compressed gas then moves through a cooling channel, encountering a significant amount of oil mist, which substantially lowers its temperature. The cooled, compressed gas then enters the second-stage rotor, undergoes further compression to the final exhaust pressure, and is finally discharged through the exhaust valve, completing the entire compression cycle.
Water-cooled compressors leverage water as the cooling medium to deliver numerous benefits. As cooling water circulates through the air compressor, it not only purifies but also enhances lubrication, consequently extending the lifespan of friction-wearing components. During operation, cooling water absorbs heat from the cylinder and compressed gas, effectively reducing exhaust temperature and power consumption, which lowers operating costs. However, it's essential to monitor and manage potential scaling issues within the water cooling system.
