Working Principle
During the ideal air compression process, the required power for single-stage pressure transmission is equivalent to the sum needed for multi-stage compression. However, owing to factors like coupling transmission power loss, bearing friction, and liquid viscosity cooling effects, the real operating power is higher. By reducing the compression ratio at each stage, power inefficiencies are minimized, making the total power for multi-stage compression lower than that of single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor is an advanced system that incorporates a two-stage rotary screw mechanism. Each stage features an active screw that drives a passive screw through an external power transmission device. The first stage employs a low-pressure screw group, and the second stage utilizes a high-pressure screw group. Each screw is surrounded by a sealing air film. As the screws rotate, the gas undergoes three processes: suction, pressurization, and exhaust, leading to efficient compression.
First Stage Compression: The first stage of the two-stage screw air compressor utilizes a low-pressure screw group for gas compression. Gas enters the compression chamber through the suction valve and is compressed by the high-speed rotation of the screw rotor before being transferred to the second stage.
Second Stage Compression: In the second stage screw group, gas is further compressed within a tighter screw space, reaching higher temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens to release the high-pressure gases from the system, completing the compression.
Natural air is drawn through the air filter into the first compression stage, where it mixes with a small amount of lubricating oil. This mixture is compressed to an interstage pressure. The gas then enters the cooling channel and interacts with a large amount of oil mist, significantly reducing its temperature. Cooled and compressed, the gas moves to the second-stage rotor for final compression to the ultimate exhaust pressure. The process culminates as the fully compressed gas exits through the exhaust valve, finalizing the compression cycle.
