Working Principle
In the ideal scenario of air compression, the energy required for single-stage pressure transmission equates to the cumulative energy needed for multi-stage compression. In reality, due to factors such as coupling transmission losses, bearing friction, and the viscosity's cooling effect, the actual operational power increases. By minimizing the compression ratio at each stage, we can lower the overall power consumption in multi-stage compression, making it more efficient than single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor is designed with a dual-stage rotary screw system, featuring active and passive screws at each stage. The active screw drives the passive screw through an external power mechanism. The first stage utilizes a low-pressure rate screw group, while the second stage employs a high-pressure rate screw group. Each screw is surrounded by a sealing air film. During operation, air undergoes three critical processes: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First Stage Compression: In the initial stage of the two-stage screw air compressor, a low-pressure rate screw group compresses the gas between the screws. The gas is drawn into the compression chamber via the suction valve. As the screw rotor rotates at high speed, the gas is gradually compressed and transferred to the next stage.
Second Stage Compression: During this stage, the gas enters a more confined screw space, experiencing elevated temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens to release the high-pressure gases from the system.
Natural air is drawn into the first compression stage through an air filter, where it mixes with a small amount of lubricating oil. This mixture is compressed to an interstage pressure. The compressed gas then passes through a cooling channel, encountering significant oil mist that substantially reduces its temperature. This cooled gas then enters the second-stage rotor for further compression, achieving the final exhaust pressure. Ultimately, the compressor expels the gas through the exhaust valve, completing the compression cycle.
