In an ideal scenario of air compression, the power necessity for single-stage pressure transmission matches the cumulative power needed for multi-stage compression. However, in practice, various factors such as coupling power loss, bearing friction, and the cooling effect of liquid viscosity increase the actual working power. By strategically minimizing the compression ratio across each stage, the total power demand for multi-stage compression can be aligned to be less than that of single-stage compression, thereby optimizing efficiency and reducing wastage.
At the core of the two-stage screw air compressor lies its sophisticated design, featuring a tandem of rotary screw compressors with distinct active and passive screws. The active screw, energized by an external power source, engages the passive screw in a seamless rotation. The initial stage leverages a low-pressure rate screw group, followed by a high-pressure rate screw group in the second phase. Each screw is encircled by a sealing air film, which ensures that as they rotate, the gas undergoes three critical stages: suction, pressurization, and exhaust, culminating in efficient compression.
First stage compression: The initial phase of the two-stage screw air compressor employs a low-pressure rate screw group, compressing the gas snugly within. Upon entering the screw compression chamber through the suction valve, the gas is deftly maneuvered by the high-speed rotation of the screw rotor, squeezing it out progressively and transitioning it to the subsequent compression stage.
Second stage compression: As the process advances to the second stage, the gas is channeled into a more confined screw space, facing an intensified squeeze under elevated temperature and pressure. The system's exhaust valve then gracefully opens, facilitating the release of high-pressure gases, marking the conclusion of the compression stage.
Natural air is ushered into the first stage of compression through an air filter, where it harmonizes with a trace of lubricating oil in the compression chamber. This synchronized action compresses the mixed gas to an interstage pressure. Following this, the gas journeys through a cooling channel, engaging with abundant oil mist, significantly mitigating its temperature. The cooled compressed gas then advances to the second-stage rotor, undergoing rigorous two-stage compression to meet the final exhaust pressure. The compression saga concludes as the compressor releases the compressed gas through the exhaust valve, completing the cycle with precision and efficiency.
Water-cooled compressors elegantly utilize water as a cooling medium.
