Working Principle
In the ideal scenario of air compression, the energy required for single-stage pressure transmission equates to the cumulative energy needed for multi-stage compression. However, in reality, this ideal is disrupted by coupling transmission losses, bearing friction, and the cooling effect of viscosity. These factors cause an increase in actual operational power. By minimizing the compression ratio at each stage, the overall power consumption is reduced in multi-stage compression, making it significantly more efficient than single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor incorporates a dual-stage rotary screw system with active and passive screws at each stage. The active screw drives the passive screw through an external power mechanism. The first stage features a low-pressure rate screw group, while the second stage is equipped with a high-pressure rate screw group. Each screw is enveloped by a sealing air film. During operation, the air undergoes three essential processes: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First Stage Compression: In this initial stage, the two-stage screw air compressor employs a low-pressure rate screw group to compress the gas between the screws. The gas is drawn into the compression chamber through the suction valve. As the screw rotor spins at high speed, the gas is progressively compressed and subsequently transferred to the next stage.
Second Stage Compression: In this stage, the gas enters a more confined screw space, experiencing heightened temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens, releasing the high-pressure gases from the system, thus completing the compression cycle.
Natural air is drawn into the first compression stage through an air filter, where it mixes with a small amount of lubricating oil. This mixture is then compressed to an interstage pressure. The compressed gas passes through a cooling channel, encountering significant oil mist that substantially lowers its temperature. This cooled gas enters the second-stage rotor for further compression, achieving the final exhaust pressure. Ultimately, the compressor expels the gas through the exhaust valve, finalizing the compression cycle.
