Working Principle
In an ideal air compression scenario, the energy required for single-stage pressure transmission equals the total energy needed for multi-stage compression. However, factors such as coupling transmission losses, bearing friction, and the cooling effect of viscosity mean the actual operational power increases. By reducing the compression ratio at each stage, we can substantially lower the overall power consumption in multi-stage compression, rendering it significantly more efficient than single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor boasts a masterfully engineered dual-stage rotary screw system, featuring both active and passive screws at each stage. The active screw propels the passive screw via an external power source. The first stage employs a low-pressure rate screw assembly, while the second stage utilizes a high-pressure rate screw assembly. Each screw is surrounded by a sealing air film. During operation, air undergoes three crucial processes: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First Stage Compression: In the initial phase of the two-stage screw air compressor, a low-pressure rate screw assembly compresses the gas between the screws. The gas is drawn into the compression chamber through the suction valve. As the screw rotor rotates swiftly, the gas is gradually compressed and transferred to the next stage.
Second Stage Compression: During this phase, the gas enters a more confined screw space, experiencing higher temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens to release the high-pressure gases from the system, completing the compression process.
Natural air is drawn into the first compression stage through an air filter, where it mixes with a small amount of lubricating oil. This mixture is compressed to an intermediate pressure. The compressed gas then passes through a cooling channel, encountering a significant oil mist that greatly reduces its temperature. This cooled gas enters the second-stage rotor for further compression, reaching the final exhaust pressure. Ultimately, the compressor expels the gas through the exhaust valve, concluding the intricate compression cycle.
