Working Principle
In an ideal air compression process, the power required for single-stage pressure transmission is equal to the combined power needed for multi-stage compression. However, real-world conditions introduce factors such as coupling transmission power loss, bearing friction, and the cooling effect of liquid viscosity, which increase actual working power. To counteract these inefficiencies, reducing the compression ratio at each stage can significantly lower the total power requirement for multi-stage compression, making it more efficient than single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor features a dual rotary screw mechanism, with each stage comprising an active and a passive screw. The passive screw is driven by the active screw through an external transmission device. The first stage employs a low-pressure rate screw group, while the second stage utilizes a high-pressure rate screw group. Each screw is enveloped by a sealing air film. As the screws rotate, gas is compressed through three distinct phases: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First Stage Compression: In the initial stage of the two-stage screw air compressor, a low-pressure rate screw group draws gas into the screw compression chamber via the suction valve. The high-speed rotation of the screw rotor progressively compresses the gas, which is then transferred to the second stage for further compression.
Second Stage Compression: At this stage, the gas enters a more confined screw space, where it is subjected to elevated temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens to expel the high-pressure gases from the system.
The process begins with natural air being drawn into the compressor through an air filter and mixed with a small amount of lubricating oil in the compression chamber. This mixture is compressed to interstage pressure and then cooled in the cooling channel, where it contacts a large amount of oil mist, significantly reducing its temperature. The cooled, compressed gas proceeds to the second-stage rotor for further compression to the final exhaust pressure.
