Working Principle
In an ideal air compression scenario, the power needed for single-stage pressure transmission equals the cumulative power needed for multi-stage compression. However, real-world operations face increased power demands due to coupling transmission losses, bearing friction, and the cooling effects of liquid viscosity. To optimize efficiency, it is crucial to reduce each stage's compression ratio, ensuring that the total power required for multi-stage compression remains lower than that of single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor features a dual rotary screw mechanism, with both active and passive screws. Driven by an external transmission, the active screw propels the passive screw. The first stage incorporates a low-pressure screw group, while the second stage contains a high-pressure screw group. Each screw is enveloped by a sealing air film, facilitating gas compression through suction, pressurization, and exhaust cycles as the screws rotate.
First Stage Compression: In this initial stage, the low-pressure screw group begins compressing the gas. Gas enters the screw compression chamber via the suction valve, and the high-speed rotation of the screw rotor further compresses the gas, transferring it to the second stage.
Second Stage Compression: During the second stage, gas enters a more confined screw space, undergoing compression at elevated temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve subsequently opens, releasing the high-pressure gases from the system.
Natural air is drawn into the first stage through an air filter, where it mixes with a small amount of lubricating oil in the compression chamber. The gas is compressed to interstage pressure and cooled in the cooling channel by oil mist contact, significantly reducing its temperature. The cooled gas then enters the second-stage rotor for further compression to the final exhaust pressure.
