Working Principle
In an ideal air compression process, the power required for single-stage pressure transmission equals the sum of the power needed for multi-stage compression. However, in real-world scenarios, the actual working power increases due to factors such as coupling transmission power loss, bearing friction, and the cooling effect of liquid viscosity. To minimize wasted power, reducing the compression ratio of each stage ensures the total power needed for multi-stage compression is less than that for single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor features a dual-stage rotary screw mechanism, each with an active and a passive screw. The active screw, powered by an external transmission device, drives the passive screw. The first stage employs a low-pressure rate screw group, while the second stage uses a high-pressure rate screw group. Each screw is surrounded by a sealing air film, compressing the gas through suction, pressurization, and exhaust processes as they rotate.
First Stage Compression: Utilizing a low-pressure rate screw group, the gas is initially compressed. The gas enters the screw compression chamber via the suction valve. The high-speed rotation of the screw rotor further compresses the gas and transfers it to the second stage.
Second Stage Compression: In the second stage, the gas enters a tighter screw space where it is compressed at higher temperature and pressure. The exhaust valve then opens, releasing the high-pressure gases from the system.
Natural air is drawn into the first stage through an air filter, mixing with a small amount of lubricating oil in the compression chamber. The gas is compressed to interstage pressure and then cooled in the cooling channel by coming into contact with oil mist. This significantly reduces the temperature before the cooled gas enters the second-stage rotor for further compression to the final exhaust pressure. The entire compression process concludes as the compressor discharges the high-pressure gas through the exhaust valve.
