Working Principle
In an ideal air compression scenario, the energy needed for single-stage pressure transmission equals the cumulative energy required for multi-stage compression. However, real-world conditions introduce factors like coupling transmission losses, bearing friction, and the cooling effect of viscosity, which increase operational power. By reducing the compression ratio at each stage, multi-stage compression can significantly lower overall power consumption, making it more efficient than single-stage compression.
The two-stage screw air compressor utilizes a dual-stage rotary screw system, with each stage featuring an active and a passive screw. The active screw drives the passive screw via an external power mechanism. The initial stage uses a low-pressure rate screw group, while the second stage employs a high-pressure rate screw group. Each screw is surrounded by a sealing air film. As they rotate, air undergoes three core processes: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First Stage Compression: The initial stage of the two-stage screw air compressor employs a low-pressure rate screw group to compress gas. The gas is drawn into the compression chamber through the suction valve, and as the screw rotor rotates at high speed, the gas is gradually compressed and transferred to the next stage.
Second Stage Compression: In this stage, the gas enters a more confined screw space, encountering higher temperatures and pressures. The exhaust valve then opens, expelling the high-pressure gases from the system.
Natural air is drawn into the first compression stage through an air filter, mixing with a small amount of lubricating oil. This mixture is compressed to an interstage pressure, then passes through a cooling channel where it encounters significant oil mist, substantially reducing its temperature. The cooled gas enters the second-stage rotor for further compression, reaching the final exhaust pressure. Ultimately, the compressor expels the gas through the exhaust valve, completing the entire compression cycle.
