Working Principle
In an optimal air compression process, the power needed for single-stage pressure transmission equals the combined effort for multi-stage compression. However, in practical scenarios, the actual working power is higher due to inefficiencies like coupling transmission power loss, bearing friction, and cooling effects of liquid viscosity. By reducing the compression ratio at each stage, the total power required for multi-stage compression can be minimized compared to single-stage compression, effectively reducing these losses.
The two-stage screw air compressor features a dual-stage rotary screw mechanism. Each stage includes an active and a passive screw, where the active screw drives the passive screw through an external power transmission device. The first stage utilizes a low-pressure rate screw group, while the second stage employs a high-pressure rate screw group. Each screw is enveloped in a sealing air film, compressing the gas through three phases: suction, pressurization, and exhaust.
First Stage Compression: The initial phase employs a low-pressure rate screw group to compress the gas. Gas enters the screw compression chamber via a suction valve, where it is progressively squeezed and transferred to the second stage under the high-speed rotation of the screw rotor.
Second Stage Compression: In this phase, the gas enters a narrower screw space, undergoing compression at higher temperatures and pressures. The high-pressure gases are then expelled from the system as the exhaust valve opens.
Natural air is filtered before being drawn into the first compression stage, where it mixes with a small amount of lubricating oil in the compression chamber. This blend is compressed to interstage pressure and then passes through a cooling channel, contacting a large amount of oil mist to significantly lower its temperature. The cooled gas then enters the second-stage rotor for further compression and is ultimately expelled through the exhaust valve, completing the entire process.
Water-cooled compressors harness the exceptional cooling power of water, resulting in enhanced lubrication and extended life of friction-wearing components. As the cooling water circulates, it aids in cleaning internal parts and efficiently dissipates heat from both the cylinder and compressed gas.
